THEY'RE ALWAYS LOOKING AT YOU - THE LOSS SERIES.

The Loss Series is an award winning series of shorts written and directed by Cheryl White.

Shot in an ununsual CCTV-style, the series is filmed in one location, with one camera angle and without sound.

'I always loved the idea of telling a complete story via CCTV where the viewer watches someone experiencing one of life’s big events. But to tell a compelling story with one camera angle, one location and in silence is no easy feat. The story telling relies heavily on the emotions and actions of the characters and the viewer’s empathy with the character’s experience.' Cheryl on why she came up with the concept.

The second in the series 'In Which a Wife Suffers a Loss' won the Best Film award at the Edge of the City film festival in 2012.

The team is currently fundraising for the third in the series: 'In Which Big Sue Suffers a Loss'.

And Loss 4 'In Which Chance Suffers a Loss'.

Audience quotes for The Loss Series.

'The simplicity of using that one angle - it made it all the more human, made the characters all the more vulnerable, and somehow it's far more intimate and raw than if you had told it any other way. Really very moved, and just had to say well done to all involved.' Layke

'Finally got around to watching In Which A Lady Suffers A Loss. What a great series of films. Looking forward to seeing the next one.' Matt
